PostSubject: Minato suzunami   Minato suzunami Icon_minitimeMon May 10, 2010 12:08 am

Name: Minato suzunami
Alias/Nickname:King of Flash or The hollow slayer

Gender: Male
Age At Death:14
Mode of Death:Stabbed to death cruely and then thrown into the river

Real Age:102
Visual Age:15

Personality:Minato is a very inexplicable being; fairly different, and outside the preferences of those around him. His smile, never failing at being present in even the most heated situations, almost never leaves the vicinity of his face. It's very rare to see the boy wearing an expression signifying sadness or depression. Some would see his grin as a sign of insecurity, but in reality, it's just a true expression of his persona. It allows him to gain an insight on the personalities of those around him as well, depending on their reactions to his apathetic outer shell, though on the inside, things aren't always the same. He is always seemingly content, albeit he goes through the same inner struggles as others. Heck, "more than others" might be the better term for him. If there were any problems with Minato, you can bet he were trouncing the dilemma with his synthetic beam.

Very few are willing to trust the unfathomable boy for many reasons, and the fact that he carries a very mocking undertone doesn't help the cause much. When in the face of someone like him, many choose the easy route and go with what comes to mind first. Why slog the rather treacherous steep walkway when the simplistic bridge is at one's feet? No soul would produce the effort behind unwinding the tangled string that he has produced. It would call for a lot of time and patience on one's hands to unstitch the mystery that lies behind the facade. He adapted to the way of life he created quite nicely, taking the shun that he receives from others as amusement. It's as if the incessant shirk is one gift after another, like a mere game dancing at his finger tips in which he plays the king's piece. All of it, wherein, he could tower above the rest, smiling down upon them - a mocking smirk of victory in the wake. One should be able to take what one dishes out, right? Indeed, correct; as do the others say when they dodge his enjoyable personality.

In battle, nothing really changes. As much as he is the person you'd want to turn away from on the regular, if you were wise, you'd want to do the same when it came to combat. Minato can make or break you--most likely the latter. Only the most mentally stable have a chance of thriving in his presence, if not anything else. His undying, derisive intellect can throw off even the most physically endowed warrior, conferring a lot of meaning to the saying "to be all brawn and no brains." Whether you didn't have the patience to deal with him before, you better had found it in the midst of battle, for you have already went as far as to wander into the deep, dark abyss the boy's soul lies within. You'd have to surrender some type of train of thought if you wished to triumph, and those who achieve this, as well as besting him on the power scale, have it all in the bag.

Complicated... In a word, very. This one simple word can be used to sum up Minato suzunami. On the outside one would assume that he is nothing more then a laid back, care-free, Captain. He is always seen making light of a situation and finding a way to make a joke or a witty remark. However this is merely a deception used to keep most people guessing. Even with his care-free attitude he always seems to speak in a polite manner, though sometimes sarcastic. If one manages to pull the real Minato from his shell they best beware of what will happen.

The real Minato is a cunning and deceptive fellow. When he is serious he is at his most deadly. He still keeps the outward care-free appearance but his eyes and his attacks tell a different story. When he is first encountered by Shinji hirako he is seen as just a Captain with knowledge of the spiritual world. He isn't assumed to be a Shinigami until he releases Kyokatsui hsikai while training kotetsu to release katekyo. This is the skill of Minato in a nutshell. He will keep you guessing and second guessing until you let your guard down and allow him just a moment to attack.

His analytical side is always at work. When something happens he finds out why. When something goes wrong he knows why. When fighting an enemy he is taking not of their movements, even down to the smallest muscle twitch. He is known to have more information about those he's in contact with then he lets on and rarely steps in unless he has to. He likes to remain on the side lines, acting only as a catalyst and having others do the work for him. However as mentioned before, if he steps in... be prepared to risk your life for he is fighting for the kill. He also has a tendency to like large, open areas.

Complicated... Indeed complicated is a very good word to use. Beware the man in the Captain haori and the flower cloak... For he is more then what he appears...

History:~Intro~

~ The Introduction ~

May 7, 4:29 A.M., East Rukongai's 3rd District; a man and a woman, by the names Oozaru Danto and Kakaori Kagurazaka, had twins. The two added up to be their third and fourth children, the first two being a male and female named Shin'ichi and Mizuki. Shin'ichi was the oldest, having one year, visually, on his younger sister, Mizuki, but both have, at the least, a good decade and some change on the twins.

The first to emerge was a girl, then a little over a minute later, a boy. They were fraternal twins. They didn't really resemble one another, but one thing about the boy, that later showed in his early childhood, was he strongly appeared to be a girl. The actual girl was named Jin, and the gender twisted boy was Minato. The two lived happily with their mother, never getting to meet or spend time with their father or older siblings. Before their birth, Oozaru abandoned Kakaori for choosing to remain pregnant with both Jin and Minato, taking Shin'ichi and Mizuki with him, claiming them to be his only children. He and Kakaori had been struggling with just the two oldest, and now they were having two more. Oozaru didn't want to be "dragged down any further" by their newborns. He took the two oldest and left Kakaori with the youngest because he felt that the babies would be a waste of time. He wanted children that he thought had the potential to help him make it in Rukongai. He believed that Jin and Minato were going to die before reaching an age they were able to do something useful. Little did he know what potential his newborn children would come with. They weren't cut from the same cloth as the others. They were destined to be Shinigami.

~ Their Own Fountain of Youth ~

Around age fifty, appearing to only be a mere five years old, Jin and Minato were all over Rukongai, playing and having fun with each other and the other kids. They often traveled far from home, exploring all over the district of East Rukongai they lived in. When they explored far and deep, they were usually just stuck with each other. Their friends never wanted to travel far away from home; their parents not really wanting them out in the open, in fear of a Shinigami coming by and causing trouble.

One day, the two stumbled upon a location that even they were afraid of venturing toward. It was a cave; deep, dark, and eerie. They stared into the sinister abyss for what seemed like hours, frozen by the strange feeling they were getting. The cave gave off a great amount of energy, however, to Jin and Minato who knew nothing of this type of stuff, it felt as if it were trying to eat away at their very soul. The dense moment was finally broken by Jin, tugging the shoulder of Minato's sleeve, telling him to follow her inside. Watching her wide-eyed as she made her way into the mouth of the cave, he followed a few footsteps behind.

Entering the cave was the hardest part--at least it was for Minato. They were in darkness for the first few minutes, and were walking hand in hand--Jin leading the way, dragging Minato along with her. He didn't really want to explore the cave the way they explored everything else, but he, also, didn't want to leave his sister by herself. One thing about the twins was they'd never leave the other to suffer in a sticky situation, by their lonesome, no matter how bad it was. Of course, at this age, it didn't really mean much, but it was a good quality that always prospered amongst family and friends.

A small light soon grew into their view, getting larger and larger with every step they took. Whether Jin was as surprised as Minato was unknown, but the boy certainly felt baffled by the intense feeling the source was letting off. As the distance closed, the pressure they felt increased. It wasn't until they entered the room where the light source was coming from when the overwhelming feeling finally ceased. Like flicking the "off" switch to a light bulb, it went away in no more than an instant. The choking hand had been removed from their throats.

The cave was filled with cyan-colored crystals, glowing with the light that they saw on their way to the clearing. A small body of water occupied the middle of the clearing, bearing the same glow from deep within it as the crystals that bordered the place. The two wasted no time making the place their playground, agreeing to keep it a secret among themselves, taking it that no one else knew of its existence. The twins spent most of their time at their new spot as if it were a second home. One tragic moment would change this and forever rip them from their fountain of youth.

Thirty years later, the twins had grown, aging three years physically. Their reiatsu had grown to a level recognizable by all around them. The cave they had made their secret hideout was no ordinary landmark. The immense energy within began to merge and grow onto their own, increasing the height of it every moment they spent surrounded by its aura. The day that changed it all happened around this point. Jin nor Minato would have ever imagined what was going to happen to them on that fateful day.

~ The Moment That Brought About Change ~

A brave Hollow, though not the smartest as it was only that of the normal adjuchas-class, appeared in Soul Society, right inside the cave they called their own. Minato was the first to notice the iniquity of the beasts glowing eyes from the dark tunnel they travel through to the fountain. Alerting his sister, he suggested she stay still, but neither had ever encountered a Hollow before. Little did they know that standing still did nothing but make them easier prey for the masked beasts.

The Hollow crept out of the abyss, sending even more chills down the children's spine as its grim appearance was revealed. There was no doubt in their mind that they were truly facing a monster. It wasn't too long after the beast exposed itself had it attacked the closest twin to it, Jin.

She attempted to back off from natural instinct, but her efforts were no use as the Hollow attacked, giving her a three tears across her abdomen, ripping straight through the clothes on her body, as well as her Nubian skin. Dripping with blood, the girl lied on her back, her vision getting blurrier as she watched the Hollow approach her slowly. All of a sudden, Minato attacked the beast from behind, clinging onto it for his life as it twisted and turned wildly. He wasn't going to watch his sister die without trying his hand at preventing it from happening. He flew off of its back, brutally crashing against an assortment of crystals, crushing his back and disabling movement from him. He fell lying on his stomach, his face buried into the ground for a few seconds. When he looked up, he saw something a lot more terrifying than what he expected. His sister was being consumed by the Hollow.

Once the beast was done with Jin, it finally turned its attention back to Minato. The boy looked up the best he can as the horrifying beast made its way toward him. His vision was beginning to get blurry, and his body heavier and harder to manage. His head dropped to the ground yet again, his eyes only catching a portion of one of the Hollow's clawed feet as it stopped mere inches from his body. It examined his body for a while, leaving him lying at its feet, bruised and battered. Minato thought this was it for him. The end of his life before it really even began. Everything began fading to black when all of a sudden. . . .

. . . . A Screech!

When he came to, he was back at home, accompanied by his mother--her face covered heavily in tears--and a stranger in the far corner; a Shinigami. The boy's torso was bandaged up, and it seemed that he was given first aid. Though he was grateful for surviving, he still felt like a part of him died, seeing as his twin had. Any other time, he would've asked how he had survived, but he answered his own obvious question, seeing a Shinigami standing in his house.

The man introduced himself as Tarou Yamada, Juubantai Nanaseki. He explained to Minato what the thing was that attacked them, and how it was extremely rare to find one in Soul Society. He did, however, say that there was one apparent reasons for the attack. Their hideout, the cave, gave off an Vast amount of spiritual energy, tampering with theirs and increasing it. Whenever they were in the cave itself, it was at its highest, being enough to attract a Hollow no matter what dimension they were in. He also commented on how he had what it took to become Shinigami, and that he should enter the Shinigami Academy once his injuries had healed, but he needn't be lectured. He knew what he had to do, and he knew for sure that nothing life threatening would get that close to him again. His mother was worried about letting him go, seeing it as losing another child, but she was no fool. She agreed with Tarou's points, and encouraged Minato to go and join the academy, even though it hurt her to do so. She told him that if he didn't have the drive to do it himself, then to do it for her and his now deceased twin, Jin.

A month later, he set out on his journey to become a great and powerful Shinigami. Before his departure, his mother gave him a gold pendant tied to a black choker for him to wear around his neck. He had a new attitude, and nothing was going to keep him from his goal.

~ Shinou Institute of Spiritual Art ~

After taking and passing the entrance exam, they presented him with the male uniform, thinking that he was a little girl despite the argument he put up. Even though the only difference between the male and female uniforms were the color of their shitagi, the stripes on the kosode, and the hakama, it was what they stood for that got on his nerves. No matter how much he looked or sounded like a female, it irritated him when people actually thought he was one. It was weird, however, his looks weren't something he had control over, so he learned how to just accept what everyone thought him to be. Telling them once was enough for him. He only brought it up a second or third time when they really needed to be reminded.

One year into the academy, the gender problem still hadn't been solved. Minato was well-known around the academy, by teachers and students alike, becoming very popular in his freshman year, however, this changed nothing concerning their thoughts about his appearance from the prior year. He was one of the youngest students, but was one of the most skilled. He was a fast learner, picking up the teachings rather fast. He caught onto each of the four arts: Zanjutsu, Hakuda, Hohou, and Kidou, with relative ease. By the time he started his second year, he had already acquired a bladed form of his Zanpakutou, signifying he made some type of contact with the spirit inside of him. His Zanpakutou took the form of a wakizashi, so he changed his style and expanded his training in order to find an easier and more effective way to attack. It wasn't something you'd see someone as young as Minato doing, but at this point in time, everyone knew that Minato was no ordinary kid. Like two hundred years before his generation, Gin and Toushirou, he could be considered a genius. He graduated at the end of his second term, being placed in the 5th division.

Minato took a deep breath and pushed open the training room where he knew his sensei would be waiting for him very patiently. He had asked recently asked his sensei to train him in the ways of new kido, allowing him to gain a better experience with reiatsu control. Minato at the time had been the best with kido, hardly an expert and wanted to train more in order to improve. The young Shinigami could see the lights casting ominous glows as he walked in. Minato’s teacher was standing there, waiting for him. The young man casted a glance round the room. There were wooden boards, like the ones used for archery, hanging about three feet away from where he was currently standing. Hisagi bowed to his sensei and humbly uttered,

"Ohaiyo gozaimasu, sensei"

"You're very on time, Minato-san. Now, let us get right in with the training session, shall we?"

The new Shinigami heaved a sigh and then put on a willing smile. Then nodded his head, signifying a mutual consent to what his teacher had said. With the nod, the old man before him produced what he knew as a Kido Handbook. Minato had seen the Kido Handbook when he had first begun learning kido spells in the academy. Minato also knew that his teacher often used this book for training his students. He leafed through the pages, searching for a kido. Then he settled on one kido.

"You are capable of something more than kido spells such as Soukatsui or Shakahou. Let me see how you fare with this one. I will leave you with this Kido Handbook. It will prove to be very useful. Remember, every time you want to train kido spells, just come here and look through this book."

And with that, he tossed the book to him. Minato take a look at it and his eyes widened. The kido before him was more advanced than he had ever been associated with. Minato looked at his sensei for a moment and he had nodded. So, he had so much trust in him? This added pressure to the academy student but he knew that it was only for his own good. Minato’s objective WAS to learn new kido spells, wasn’t it? His teacher smiled at him and said. "You must first perfect and completely master Hadou and Byakurai first before attempting the kido." Minato nodded his head and stepped towards one of the panels three feet before him.

Minato took a deep breath in and closed his eyes. He needed full concentration for a technique such as this. He could feel his reiatsu coursing through his veins, a heat which made him tremble slightly. This was one of the most important steps to learning any kido spell, as he had been told many times during kido class. This process was very important for the success of any kido. Hisagi at the moment usually needed almost five minutes in order to conjure up the necessary reiatsu for a kido spell as high as Hadou no Gojuuroku.

"Hope I can get this right..."

He knew that he would have to first perform the Byakurai technique which was not a problem since he had already learned and mastered the kido. Minato could feel the reiatsu conjure in his body and travel to one place, his right arm. The right arm was his dominant, the one which he used for kido spells. Minato pointed his index and middle finger towards the wooden panel on the far right. He hoped to be able to perform this technique to its fullest, where the reiatsu discharge would be the greatest and where his accuracy level would also be great. Once he felt the numbing feeling in the palm of his hand and edge toward his fingertips, he whispered,

"Hadou no Byakurai"

A bolt of blue light discharged from his fingertips the second he finished speaking the phrase. Minato knew that with his reiatsu discharge, it was at a great potential but that he would have to conjure up way more reiatsu for Hadou no Gojuuroku. He knew that Byakurai only fired one white lightning spark but Kyouran Byakurai would fire multiple. The more reiatsu discharge and the more refined, the young man would be able to fire more white lightning sparks. But Minato knew that he was going to need more concentration and more accuracy for this. But he was ready for anything which lay ahead.

"Good, now make sure that your reiatsu is more defined, more precise and stronger. The stronger the reiatsu discharge, the better chance you will have of being able to learn this kido."

Minato dismally smiled and nodded his head at his sensei’s words. This was going to be harder for him now. Minato turned his attention back to the boards. His objective was to hit three boards, which meant that he would have to cast Kyouran Byakurai. The young Shinigami closed his eyes again, concentrating on reiatsu formation. This was the first time he was performing a kido of such high level and thus he did not know how much reiatsu was enough.

Minato felt the warmth in his body as he felt the reiatsu travel. He trembled slightly at the sudden warmth as it began increasing. Minato directed the energy towards his hand. He could feel his hand numbing and his fingertips begin to numb as well. He brought his right hand upward, pointing his fingers towards one of the wooden panels. Then he opened his eyes abruptly and with no hesitation, he whispered the incantation.

"Lord, the shattered vault! Pale the midnight rose. Silver rain, broken sky. Sigh the man's cry in the deep sepulture of cowards. Carry the arched fool to the gates of torn hearts!"

Minato could see his hand radiating with the blue and white energy as he said the words. It was only after he said the incantation that he stop for a moment, allowing the reiatsu to refine before discharge. Then he called out "Hadou no Gojuuroku Kyouran Byakurai!" His voice was only a mere whisper as he said these words. As soon as the words were said, Hisagi released the reiatsu in his hand, seeing the blue and white energy flow from his body and into the air.

"Don't fail me now..."

Minatocould see the spark carry and launch towards the board. It should then separate as soon as the reiatsu was launched from his fingertips. From what he could tell, it wasn't doing that. He wondered why and looked towards his sensei who was also assessing the situation closely. His fingers fell to his side as the spark was launched and the disappeared, before hitting the wooden board that was his target. He thought of reasons why it was successful.

“Perhaps it is too early to teach you such complex things. Do not feel discouraged, you gave it your best.”

That wasn’t enough for him, Minato wanted more, but he knew that his sensei was done with him for the time being. Minato bowed and faked a smile. It was completely useless, after training in only three kido he thought he could manage such a thing? He could have hurt someone.

Or Minato could have mastered something that no one her rank had. Determination swelled within him as he rushed through the doors into the soft breeze.
